Previously, these airports were closed for civilian operations until May 10, but the closure has now been extended as a precaution. Due to this temporary suspension, Air India and other airlines have cancelled all flights to and from affected airports, citing official aviation notices. On Friday alone, 138 domestic and international flights were canceled at Delhi Airport, further disrupting air travel. The airports under temporary closure include:
  • Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal: Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Bhuntar, Shimla, Dharamshala
  • Punjab: Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Bhatinda
  • Haryana & Rajasthan: Kishangarh, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer
  • Gujarat: Bhuj, Jamnagar, Rajkot
  • Others: Chandigarh, Pathankot
According to sources, this closure will remain in effect until 5:29 AM on May 15, subject to further developments.
