He died on Friday night, and news of his demise reached friends and well-wishers on Saturday, prompting many to visit his residence. Mukul Dev was known for his performances in popular films such as Son of Sardaar, R... Rajkumar, and Jai Ho. His final appearance was in the Hindi film Anth The End.

Born in New Delhi into a Punjabi family with ancestral roots near Jalandhar, Mukul was the son of Hari Dev, an assistant commissioner of police who introduced him to Afghan culture and languages like Pashto and Persian.
Mukul showed an early interest in performance, receiving his first paycheck in 8th grade after impersonating Michael Jackson in a Doordarshan dance show. In addition to his artistic talents, he was also a trained pilot from the Indira Gandhi Institute of Aviation.
He began his acting career with the 1996 TV serial Mumkin, followed by appearances in Ek Se Badh Kar Ek on Doordarshan and as the host of Fear Factor India Season 1. His film debut was in Dastak, where he played ACP Rohit Malhotra alongside Sushmita Sen in her debut role.
Mukul Dev is survived by his brother, actor Rahul Dev. His sudden passing has left the film industry and his fans in shock, as tributes continue to pour in for the talented actor who left a lasting mark on Indian cinema.
