New Delhi: The 2024 edition of the Hurun India Rich List has been unveiled, showcasing the significant wealth accumulated by several prominent figures from the Indian film industry. Among those featured are renowned Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, Hrithik Roshan, and Amitabh Bachchan.
Shah Rukh Khan, known as the “King of Bollywood,” has made a remarkable entry into the list with an impressive fortune of Rs 7,300 crore. At 58, Khan’s diversified ventures in cinema and sports have solidified his financial success. His ownership of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and his film production house, Red Chillies Entertainment, have been key contributors to his wealth. Khan’s significant online presence, with over 44 million followers on X (formerly Twitter) and 47 million on Instagram, underscores his influential status in the industry.
Khan’s cinematic resurgence, marked by the blockbuster successes of Pathaan and Jawan, has been instrumental in his financial ascent. Pathaan earned Rs 543 crore in India and over Rs 1,000 crore worldwide, while Jawan surpassed these figures with Rs 640 crore domestically and Rs 1,160 crore globally. His recent film Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, also contributed with Rs 227 crore in India and Rs 454 crore internationally.
Juhi Chawla, another celebrated figure on the list, has amassed a wealth of Rs 4,600 crore. Chawla, who shares ownership of the Kolkata Knight Riders with Khan, is positioned as the second wealthiest Bollywood star.
Hrithik Roshan follows with a net worth of Rs 2,000 crore. His success is partly attributed to his popular athleisure brand, HRX. Roshan also enjoys a substantial social media following, with 32 million followers on X, making him one of the most followed actors on the platform.
Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan holds the fourth spot with a wealth of Rs 1,600 crore. Bachchan’s financial portfolio is bolstered by various investments across multiple sectors. His latest film, Kalki 2898 AD, has contributed to his continued prominence.
Karan Johar, a multifaceted personality in the Indian film industry, ranks fifth with a net worth of Rs 1,400 crore. Johar’s recent film Kill has been well-received, and he is also involved in upcoming projects such as Dhadak 2, which is a remake of the Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal. Additionally, Johar is set to produce Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan, as well as an untitled project with Kartik Aaryan.
