Amritsar: The attacker arrested in connection with the hand grenade blast in Chandigarh’s Sector 10, Rohan Masih, has provided crucial information during his police remand. The police revealed that Rohan and his accomplice Vishal, a resident of Dera Baba Nanak, were planning to flee to Jammu-Kashmir. Rohan also disclosed that the attack was orchestrated with weapons sourced from Pakistan, and a deal of 5 lakh rupees was made for the attack.
Chandigarh Blast Details
Rohan Masih is currently on a 6-day police remand. He confessed that after carrying out the blast in Chandigarh, he moved to Amritsar but had to return to Khanna for some work. During his hiding in Amritsar, he stayed at a hotel, from which he was arrested. Police are now conducting raids to apprehend his accomplice, Vishal.
Weapons from Pakistan
The State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) investigated a pistol recovered from Rohan Masih, which was found to have arrived from Pakistan via a drone. The police have already arrested Akashdeep Singh and Amarjeet Singh, who were in contact with Pakistani smugglers. It is also suspected that the hand grenade used in the attack was sourced from Pakistan.
Search for Vishal
Rohan revealed that his accomplice Vishal was also planning to flee to Jammu-Kashmir. The Punjab police have sealed all borders and are intensifying their search for Vishal. According to police sources, Vishal is still in Punjab, and escaping from there has become challenging due to the heightened alert.
Role of Happy Pashiyan
Rohan disclosed that Happy Pashiyan, a resident of his village, had offered financial assistance for the attack. The deal was set at 5 lakh rupees, but only about 20 thousand rupees have been received so far. Rohan claimed that Happy Pashiyan played a significant role in this conspiracy.
