CHENNAI: A fire at the Manali substation in North Chennai caused widespread power disruptions across various parts of the city on Thursday night. The incident, which occurred late in the evening, resulted in outages lasting more than an hour in several localities, including Jamalia, Kodungaiyur, Washermenpet, Kodambakkam, Vadapalani, Perambur, T. Nagar, Besant Nagar, Thiruvanmiyur, and Mylapore.

The power outage, which affected both residential and commercial areas, prompted many residents to voice their frustrations on social media, calling for swift restoration of services. TANGEDCO officials were on-site, working to repair the damage and restore electricity to the affected regions.

While power was restored in some areas quickly, delays in other parts led to complaints from residents. The fire reportedly caused significant damage, making the restoration efforts more challenging.
