Hashim Musa, Ex-Pakistan Army Special Forces Soldier, Prime Suspect in Pahalgam Terror Attack

Published on April 29, 2025 by Vivek Kumar

In a significant development, sources have revealed that Hashim Musa, a former soldier of the Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG), is the prime suspect in the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that occurred on April 22. This revelation came to light during the interrogation of one of the 14 Kashmiri Over Ground Workers (OGWs) who are suspected of aiding the terrorists by providing logistical support and conducting reconnaissance of the attack site. According to security sources, Musa’s involvement underscores the direct role of the Pakistan Army and the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in orchestrating the attack. Similar patterns were observed in the October 2024 attacks in the Valley, where six non-locals, a doctor, two Indian Army personnel, and two Army porters were killed. Musa is also believed to have been involved in three other attacks that took place in 2024. National Investigation Agency (NIA) investigators have confirmed the involvement of a local network of OGWs and a terror module operating in South Kashmir. These locals are suspected of guiding the Pahalgam attack team and arranging logistics, including shelter and possibly the transportation of weapons used in the attack. Sources have confirmed that, in addition to Musa, another Pakistani terrorist named Ali Bhai and two local accomplices, Adil Thoker and Asif Shaikh, were directly involved in the Pahalgam terror attack. However, the interrogation of OGWs suggests that more Pakistani terrorists may have been involved. The Pahalgam terror attack, which resulted in the deaths of at least 26 people, mostly tourists, and injured several others, is the deadliest incident in the region since the 2019 Pulwama strike. The attack has heightened tensions and raised serious concerns about the security situation in Kashmir. The revelation of Musa’s involvement and the broader network of support highlights the ongoing threat posed by Pakistan-backed terrorism in the region. Authorities are continuing their investigations to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy and bring all those responsible to justice.
