The confrontation occurred around 11 PM on Thursday night in the Samba district, when BSF personnel monitoring the area spotted a large group of terrorists attempting to cross into Indian territory. According to a BSF spokesperson, the infiltration effort was being supported by the Pakistani Rangers' Dhindar post, whose cover fire was used to aid the terrorists. BSF forces acted swiftly, eliminating all seven infiltrators and inflicting significant damage on the supporting Pakistani post. Officials noted that more terrorists may have been killed during the operation. The BSF also released thermal imager footage showing a bunker at the Dhindar post being fired upon and destroyed—this bunker reportedly housed a heavy machine gun used by the Rangers. This incident comes amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam and India’s retaliatory strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). In response to the ongoing hostilities, the BSF has significantly increased vigilance and border security measures.
