Citing national security as the top priority, the board stated, "At a time when the nation is responding to terror attacks and cross-border aggression, the interests of the country come first." This decision follows rising uncertainty over the IPL’s continuation, especially after the Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match in Dharamshala was abruptly cancelled on Thursday due to an air raid alert in Jammu and Pathankot. The BCCI has not yet announced a revised schedule but assured that updates will be provided based on national security assessments.
