New Delhi, April 19 — The wait is over for lakhs of engineering aspirants as the JEE (Main) 2025 results were declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday. In a standout achievement, 24 candidates secured a perfect 100 NTA score in this highly competitive exam. Among the top scorers, Rajasthan emerged as the leader with the highest number of perfect-score holders. Notably, one female student also featured among the toppers, making her mark in this challenging national-level exam. However, the announcement wasn’t without its share of controversy. The NTA revealed that the results of 110 candidates were withheld after they were found using unfair means, including submitting forged documents during the examination process. This year, over 9.92 lakh candidates appeared for the second session of JEE Main, one of the largest and most crucial engineering entrance tests in India. An NTA official explained that the NTA score differs from raw marks or percentage. Since the exam is conducted in multiple sessions with varying difficulty levels, the scores are normalised on a scale from 100 to 0 to ensure fairness. These scores reflect a candidate's relative performance compared to others in the same session. With JEE Main 2025 now wrapped up, the focus shifts to the next big milestone — JEE Advanced, the gateway for admission into the country’s 23 prestigious IITs. Candidates qualifying through Paper 1 and Paper 2 of JEE Main will now prepare to compete for those coveted seats.
