Dr. Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, faced his fourth consecutive day of interrogation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday regarding the rape and murder of a female doctor. Ghosh has been questioned for over 50 hours over the past four days. Sources reported by Jagran.com indicate that Ghosh has been giving fabricated statements to the investigation team.
The CBI has identified discrepancies in Ghosh's statements compared to witness testimonies. There are concerns that Ghosh may have deleted crucial information from his phone.
In parallel, Kolkata Police have filed a corruption case against Ghosh. This follows an investigation into financial irregularities at the hospital, which has been under review since a complaint was lodged in June. The state government had previously set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to address these issues.
