Kolkata Medical College: Suspect Admits to Molestation, Sought Explicit Photos from Girlfriend

In a shocking revelation, Sanjay Roy, who is charged with the rape and murder of a 31-year-old female doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, has confessed to his heinous acts during a polygraph test administered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday.

Roy reportedly disclosed that he had visited a red-light district with a friend just hours before the incident, though he denied any sexual encounters. Furthermore, he admitted to molesting another woman on the streets earlier that day, as reported by India Today. In addition, Roy allegedly made a video call to his girlfriend, asking her to send explicit images.

The events unfolded on the night of the crime after Roy and his friend had drinks and visited a red-light area. They then proceeded to another location in South Kolkata, where they are said to have molested a girl. Returning to the hospital later, Roy is accused of raping and murdering the doctor in a corridor near the seminar hall before heading to the residence of his friend, Anupam Dutta, a police officer.

According to The Times of India, Roy’s polygraph results indicated several deceptive responses. The CBI’s psychological profile revealed that Roy had a severe addiction to pornography, with numerous explicit videos discovered on his phone.

The victim, who suffered from 25 external and internal injuries, was smothered to death. The CBI is also examining the involvement of Dr. Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of the medical college, who underwent a lie-detector test. Ghosh is accused of misrepresenting the rape and murder as a suicide and faces allegations of financial misconduct.

The Supreme Court has recently questioned the Kolkata Police about the 12-hour delay in filing the FIR and has expressed concerns regarding Dr. Ghosh’s handling of the case.
