Allegations against Dr. Sandeep Ghosh Corruption and the mystery of Kolkata Rape and Murder Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has completed a second round of polygraph tests on Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, as part of their ongoing investigation into the rape and murder of a woman doctor at the institution. The polygraph test was conducted by a team from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL).

Previously, the CBI had conducted a polygraph test on Sanjay Roy, the arrested suspect in the case. The investigation into the brutal crime, which took place on August 9, has seen significant developments, including the involvement of the anti-corruption branch of the CBI, which conducted searches at multiple locations linked to Ghosh and his relatives in Kolkata on August 25.

The CBI’s probe into Ghosh began after the Calcutta High Court directed the agency to investigate alleged corruption at the medical college. Following these directives, the CBI filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Dr. Sandip Ghosh on August 24. The Calcutta High Court has granted the CBI three weeks to submit a progress report on the investigation, which is due on September 17.

Earlier this month, the Supreme Court intervened in the case, ordering that security at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital be handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to ensure the safety and integrity of the institution while the investigation continues.

The tragic death of the trainee doctor in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital has sparked widespread outrage, leading to nationwide protests and increasing scrutiny of the institution’s administration during Ghosh’s tenure. The CBI’s findings in this high-profile case are eagerly awaited as the investigation progresses.
