BJP’s Strong Criticism of Mamata Banerjee
Following these incidents, the opposition party BJP has launched a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Amit Malviya, head of the BJP IT Cell, criticized the Chief Minister, stating, “Mamata Banerjee has done nothing to ensure the safety of women in the state. Crimes against women are on the rise, and the government is merely a spectator.”
Questioning Women’s Safety
After the incident in Ilambazar, the hospital administration immediately alerted the police, leading to the arrest of the accused on the spot. In the Howrah case, the police have assured strict action against the hospital staff involved.
BJP leader Agnimitra Paul also strongly criticized the state government, saying, “If women are not safe even in hospitals, where can they find safety in our state? The Mamata Banerjee government has done nothing to protect women at any level. It’s time for a change.”
These incidents have reignited the debate on women’s safety in West Bengal, raising concerns that could potentially impact the upcoming elections.
