During a high-level joint press briefing held in New Delhi, Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti, Director General of Air Operations, unveiled satellite imagery and video footage showing multiple terror camps—most notably in Muridke and Bahawalpur—being obliterated by Indian missiles. The operation, executed in response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 civilian lives, was hailed as a strategic success. Accompanied by Vice Admiral AN Pramod (DG Naval Operations), Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai (DG Military Operations), and Major General SS Sharda (ADG Strategic Communications), Air Marshal Bharti walked the media through footage that captured the exact moments of impact. The clips confirmed direct hits on high-value terrorist infrastructure with minimal collateral damage.
"The strikes were surgical in nature, targeting nine confirmed terror hubs. We achieved complete operational surprise and eliminated over 100 terrorists, including key figures like Yusuf Azhar, Abdul Malik Rauf, and Mudasir Ahmed," said Lt Gen Ghai.
The operation was meticulously planned following the Pahalgam tragedy, for which The Resistance Front—an affiliate of Lashkar-e-Taiba—claimed responsibility. The Indian response came swiftly with coordinated actions from the Indian Air Force, Navy, and intelligence assets.

Satellite Footage Confirms Devastation

Before-and-after images of terror training facilities at Bahawalpur and Muridke showed total structural collapse. The Muridke facility—linked to several past cross-border plots—was struck at two separate points. In Bahawalpur, four impact points were confirmed.
“Operation Sindoor demonstrated India's intolerance towards terrorism. We carefully ensured civilian areas were untouched. Some camps had been evacuated in anticipation, but our targets were clear and validated,” Bharti said.

Escalation and Cross-Border Tensions

Following the Indian strikes, Pakistan reportedly responded with a series of missile and drone attacks across the Line of Control, hitting civilian areas including villages and religious sites. The Indian Army reported casualties and condemned the targeting of non-military zones.
“Pakistan’s response was erratic and desperate. Their attacks on civilian zones only reaffirmed the legitimacy and necessity of our preventive strike,” Lt Gen Ghai emphasized.
The Indian Navy and IAF remained on high alert, ensuring full airspace security through advanced systems like S-400 and Akash surface-to-air missile networks.

Key Highlights:

  • Operation Sindoor targeted 9 terror hubs across Pakistan and PoK.
  • Over 100 terrorists neutralized; multiple high-value targets eliminated.
  • Minimal collateral damage ensured via satellite-guided precision.
  • Escalation followed, with Pakistan launching retaliatory strikes.
