Pushpa 2: The Rule Smashes Box Office Records with Historic Pre-Release and Post-Release Performance

December 2024: The highly anticipated sequel Pushpa 2: The Rule has set new benchmarks in Indian cinema, becoming one of the most lucrative ventures in the industry.

Pre-Release Business Breakthrough

Before its release, Pushpa 2: The Rule created a monumental record by achieving a pre-release business of ₹1085 crore, making it the highest ever in Indian cinema. The film earned nearly ₹640 crore from its theatrical rights:

The film sold over 2 million tickets during pre-bookings, becoming the fastest movie to cross 1 million ticket sales on BookMyShow, surpassing Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, K.G.F: Chapter 2, and Kalki 2898 AD.

Box Office Domination

On its opening day, Pushpa 2: The Rule grossed ₹280 crore worldwide, becoming the highest day-one grosser in India, with ₹200 crore from the domestic market. The Hindi version alone netted ₹72 crore.

By its eleventh day, the film grossed ₹1,009 crore domestically, with a worldwide total of ₹1,226 crore. It became the second-highest-grossing film in India, following Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017).

Overseas Success

In the United States, Pushpa 2 debuted at number five, earning $1.7 million on its opening day and $6 million over the opening weekend. Globally, the film grossed ₹762 crore in its first four days, including ₹590 crore from India and $20 million from overseas markets.
