New Delhi, May 9 — US President Donald Trump has called for an immediate end to the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan. The White House Press Secretary, Carolyn Levitt, made this statement amid heightened tensions following a response by India’s armed forces to a terrorist attack in Pahalgam. On Wednesday, India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting nine militant camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Levitt noted that President Trump is keen for the conflict to de-escalate swiftly, acknowledging that India and Pakistan have had longstanding disputes. "These are two countries that have had differences for decades, and it’s a situation where both Secretary of State and Marco Rubio are actively engaged," she said.
She added that President Trump maintains good relations with the leaders of both countries, and Senator Marco Rubio is in constant communication with them, working to bring an end to the conflict.
