Yograj Singh, father of former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, has once again made headlines with his controversial remarks. This time, he took aim at former Indian cricket legends Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni, expressing his long-standing grievances.

Yograj Singh, who has played a single Test match and six ODIs for India, spoke in an interview with the YouTube channel G Switch, where he declared, “I will never forgive Dhoni for what he did.” His comments quickly gained attention across social media platforms. On Kapil Dev, Yograj added, “He removed me from the team in 1981. I promised him that he would live to regret that decision, and one day the world would scorn him.”

Yograj also said, “I can never forgive MS Dhoni. He should take a hard look at himself in the mirror. Despite his success in cricket, the wrongs he did to my son are now becoming public. For that, he can never be pardoned. Throughout my life, I have never forgiven anyone who betrayed me, and I have never embraced them, no matter how close they were, even if they were my own family.”

Yograj Singh Claims His Son Has More Achievements Than Kapil Dev

During the same interview, Yograj Singh also criticized 1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev, accusing him of holding a grudge against him since 1981 when he was dropped from the Indian cricket team. According to Yograj, Kapil viewed him as a threat and deliberately excluded him from the team.

Yograj Singh remarked, “I want to show the world the real Yograj, the man you tried to pull down. Today, people look up to me, while those who wronged me have faced their own downfalls—some suffer from illness, others have lost their families, and some have no sons. You know who I’m referring to—your so-called greatest captain, Mr. Kapil Dev. I told him he would face disgrace, and now Yuvraj has 13 trophies while Kapil holds only a single World Cup.”

Yograj Singh emphasized that his removal from the team in 1981 by Kapil Dev has fueled his disdain.

Yograj Singh’s Ongoing Feud with MS Dhoni

This isn’t the first time Yograj has openly criticized MS Dhoni. Earlier this year, the 66-year-old former cricketer claimed that Dhoni’s actions were responsible for Chennai Super Kings’ defeat in IPL 2024. He further accused Dhoni of being envious of Yuvraj’s success.

Yograj previously commented, “CSK lost IPL 2024, and it’s no surprise. You reap what you sow. Yuvraj Singh is now an ICC Ambassador, while Dhoni, with all his arrogance, couldn’t even bring himself to shake hands with Yuvraj. That’s why CSK failed this year.”

Speculations on Dhoni’s Future in IPL as an Uncapped Player

Following his retirement from international cricket in August 2020, there has been speculation about whether the 43-year-old Dhoni will continue to play for Chennai Super Kings. Some media reports suggest that CSK is attempting to negotiate with the BCCI to allow Dhoni to play as an uncapped player.
